How did ernest thomas lose his right eye?

Ernest Thomas lost his vision in his right eye due to amblyopia or "lazy eye", a condition he had since he was young.

Amblyopia is the medical term used when the vision in one of the eyes is reduced because the eye and the brain are not working together properly. The eye itself looks normal, but it is not being used normally because the brain is favoring the other eye.

Ernest is most famous for his role as Roger "Rog" Thomas on the 1970's sitcom What's Happening!!, which aired from 1976 to 1979. He got his start in professional acting as a Broadway actor in 1974.

Ernest writes screenplays, has sold a script to Sony Pictures and has written a book in collaboration with his mother entitled “Conversations With My Mother: Food for the Mind, Body and Soul”.

He also manages new talent and is producing several shows currently in development with his production company, Bravokid Entertainment.
