Tommy Flanagan (born July 3, 1965) grew up in a rough part of Glasgow, Scotland. One night, when leaving a pub, a group of people attacked and tried to rob him. The attackers slashed his face from ear to ear, leaving him a scar known as a 'Glasgow Grin' or a 'Glaswegian Smile'.
He nearly lost his life, but survived and decided to become an actor. He got his first big break in the 1995 movie Braveheart which starred Mel Gibson. He was one of the stars of the TV series Sons of Anarchy, where he played outlaw biker Chibs Telford.
