Eye exams are available by the independent Doctors of Optometry at or next to Sears Optical stores in most states. In California, Sears Optical does not offer eye exams or employ Doctors of Optometry.
During a typical eye exam, adults will be examined for visual acuity and general eye health. The doctor will check for signs of glaucoma, cataracts and other eye diseases.
For children, a routine eye exam consists of tests for peripheral vision; near and distance vision; eye/hand coordination; the ability to use both eyes together; and the ability of the eyes to move smoothly across a page and shift quickly and accurately from one object to another.
After your or your child's eye test, the results will be explained to you. If you need corrective lenses, a prescription will be provided.
