Aside from owning the Full Throttle Saloon in Sturgis, South Dakota, Michael Ballard owns one other business. He recently purchased land in Trimble, Tennessee, where he plans to build the Full Throttle Sl'oon Shine distillery. By late 2013, he will have the distillery, a retail store, and a storage facility built there. He plans to sell and ship legal moonshine at the store and distillery.
Currently, Ballard makes most of his money from running the Full Throttle Saloon for 10 days in August, during the annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, with about 300,000 visitors every year.
Ballard is also paid by TruTV for being the star of the reality show Full Throttle Saloon. However, he originally became wealthy by running a cellular phone business called Cellular Plus, which he sold in 1999. Ballard's net worth is currently about $3 million dollars.
Michael Ballard married his girlfriend Angie Carlson on August 26, 2012, during Throttlefest in Kansas City. The final episode of season four aired recently and brought in 1.9 million viewers. For more information on the show or the saloon itself, check out their website.
