George Jung is still alive, but he no longer resides in Otisville Federal Prison, in Mount Hope, New York. He was transferred to the Federal Correctional Institution in Texas and then transferred again to a low security Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) in Fort Dix, New Jersey, where he is living currently. He is scheduled to be released in November 2014.
Jung is well known as one of the biggest drug smugglers of the 1970s and 1980s. As a member of the Medellin Cartel, he made $15 million for each run from Colombia to California. In 1994, he was arrested and sentenced to 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to three counts of conspiracy.
