How long does kratom stay in your system

Not Medical/Legal Advice: Kratom can be detected in a urine test for about six hours.

The length of time depends on the amount ingested, the test used, your metabolism or if you have other medical conditions.

Kratom, also called as krypton, mitragyna speciosa or mitragynine comes from the leaves of a tropical tree in South East Asia. It comes in the form of leaves, powder and resin. Kratom is an opiate, and is smoked or chewed or made into a tea.

Someone who tries kratom will probably not want the undesirable effects that it causes. Here are some of the effects of the drug kratom shared by Narconon.org.

According to Darshan Singh Mahinder, a professor at the Centre for Drug Research at the University of Science Malaysia, throughout Malaysia, the leaves of the kratom plant are traditionally crushed and made into a tea. It's used to "self-treat huroin/morphine dependence, or to reduce opiate withdrawal among illicit drug users," he said. It can also be used for pain relief.

But in the United States, it's sold as a supplement, usually in the form of powder, pills, capsules or even energy drinks, and loosely regulated by the Food and Drug Administration.
