According to Drunkard.com, Andre the Giant holds the world record for the largest number of beers consumed in a single sitting. These were standard 12-ounce bottles of beer, nothing fancy, but during a six-hour period Andre drank 119 of them.
As reported by WWE.com, during a segment on the WWE Classics on Demand series, “Legends of Wrestling,” the late Mike Graham said the giant once drank 156 beers in one sitting — an unbelievable boast that fellow panelists Dusty Rhodes and Michaels Hayes quickly backed up. Journalist Bill Apter relayed a similar story to WWE Classics about Andre downing more than 125 beers while drinking with Harley Race in New Orleans.
Andre the Giant was born on May 19, 1946, in Grenoble, France. He suffered from acromegaly, or "giantism." He wrestled in Montreal as Jean Ferre, in Japan as "Monster Roussimoff," and in 1973, debuted at Madison Square Garden as "Andre the Giant." He became one of the most popular wrestlers in the WWF (now the WWE) and acted in Rob Reiner's 1987 film, The Princess Bride. Andre died in 1993.
