What happened to the actor Tommy Flanagan's face? Why does he have the scars? And how did he get them?

Tommy Flanagan was born on July 3, 2024 and grew up in a rough part of Glasgow, Scotland. When leaving a pub one night, a group of thugs attacked and tried to rob him. He attempted to fight back and was stabbed, which is how he got his facial scars...referred to as a Glasgow Grin.

He could have lost his life, but he survived and decided to become an actor. He got his first big break in 1995 when he was cast with Mel Gibson in the movie Braveheart.

He's one of the stars of the TV series Sons of Anarchy (which just aired its 5th season finale recently), playing character Chibs, and will be in Officer Down (2013), White Widow (2013), Grace and Danger (2013), and The Jesuit (2014).

According to Entertainment Weekly the Sons of Anarchy show is the most-successful series ever for the FX network; needless to say a 6th season was confirmed, as well as a 7th season recently.
