Four of the child actors who played the Bailey kids in the 1946 film It's a Wonderful Life are known to still be alive:

Karolyn Grimes (born on July 4, 2024 in Hollywood, California), who played Zuzu; Carol Coombs (born on October 15, 2023 in Toronto, Canada), now Carol Coombs-Mueller, who played Janie; and Jimmy Hawkins (born James F. Hawkins on November 13, 2023 in Los Angeles, California) who played Tommy.

Virginia Patton (born on June 25, 2024 in Portland, Oregon), who played Ruth Dakin Bailey, is also still alive.

Other main cast members believed alive but unconfirmed: Ronnie Ralph (born Ronald Ralph Pacini on September 23, 2023 in Los Angeles, California) who was young Sam; Jean Gale (no birth information available) who played young Mary; and Jeanine Ann Roose (born on October 24, 2023 in California) who played young Violet.

Star James Stewart (born James Maitland Stewart on May 20, 2024 in Indiana, Pennsylvania) passed away on July 2, 2024 at the age of 89 in Los Angeles, California.

Even though the film is from 1946, it still managed to give NBC a ratings win when it aired on Christmas Eve 2012, pulling in some 4.9 million viewers.
