The cooking time for a Rib Roast depends on how you decide to cook it. You can cook it at a low temperature for a long time, or at a high temperature for a short time. Slow cooking reduces shrinkage, but sacrifices that nice brown very flavorful outside. However you can get the best of both worlds by combining techniques: Roast the meat at 450F for half an hour, then drop the temperature to 325F and roast for about 15 minutes per pound.
