Lizard Lick is a small but quickly growing community in North Carolina, it is located just off of US 64 in Wake County. Lizard Lick community is about 20 miles east of the state capital of Raleigh. It is approximately 3 miles north of Wendell and 3 miles west of Zebulon, situated at the crossroads of Lizard Lick Road and Highway 97.
According to a North Carolina historian William S. Powell, the town got its name from a "passing observer who saw many lizards sunning and licking themselves on a rail fence.”
Ron and his wife Amy started Lizard Lick Towing (LLT) and Recovery in the spring of 1998 by just having a single truck and for over the past ten years the business has grown which includes 15 employees and a fleet of 20 trucks which covers nine counties.
The crew first appeared on the show "All Worked Up" on truTV in 2009. After proving to be one of the more popular re-occurring segments of All Worked Up, Lizard Lick Towing was given their own reality show which was first aired on February 7, 2011.
Of interest, just two weeks ago truTV's hit series Lizard Lick Towing has attracted more than 1.8 million viewers, it's a +28% jump over the prior week. The show also garnered 1.0 million adults 18-49 (+51%) and 525,000 men 18-49 (+50%), ranking among ad-supported cable's Top 5 programs in the timeslot with both demos, as well as among adults 18-34 and men 18-34.
