Who is barry from storage wars outside of storage wars what does he do

Besides being dubbed “The Collector” on A&E’s Storage Wars, Barry Weiss is a retiree. He worked for about 30 years in the wholesale produce business with his brother, and has enjoyed his retirement for the past 4 years.

He has been collecting antiques for most of his life, and was approached by his friend, Thom Beers, to join the cast of the show when it was in the development stage. Barry said the coolest thing he ever found is an engraved aluminum hard hat.

Meanwhile, Dave Hester is claiming that Storage Wars is fake, the show is staged, and the bidding is rigged! According to Hester, he even says that the show paid to have a female cast member surgically enhanced to boost male viewer interest; he's suing the show for wrongful termination after getting the boot from the series.

No word yet from Weiss on the validity of these claims.
