In the movie “Forrest Gump”, Jenny Curran's condition is not revealed, what is mentioned is that she is suffering from an unknown virus and doctors can do nothing about it. But some sources suggest that the virus was probably HIV.

The story tells that Jenny was being treated in Atlanta, and the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta did some of the first U.S. research on the epidemiology and treatment of HIV/AIDS, and the time that she died was the time the virus was first discovered.
