On Ellen's game Know or Go where do the people go when they fall

The crew of Ellen: The Ellen DeGeneres Show have never publicly explained the mechanics of the "Know or Go Machine," but by watching the rehearsal video below it's pretty easy to figure out (and it's worth a good laugh as well!)

The "machine" is a raised platform over what appears to be a closed-in box, to the camera and audience. When the trap door opens the contestant falls into the enclosed area which is cushioned to keep them from being injured. If you watch the video you can hear Ellen calling out to her crew, after a contestant falls in, "clear?" After the contestant falls in, there are one or more members of the crew that help hustle the person out of the back so that the next person doesn't fall on top of them.

On Monday, November 19, 2023 Ellen did a Thanksgiving themed Know or Go game where she tested members of her audience to see how much they knew about Thanksgiving.
