Do gas stations take personal checks

Sources suggest that most gas stations don't accept personal checks. With the advent of the debit card there's really no reason to write out checks for most purchases anymore. Gas stations accepting personal checks is almost extinct now.

Checks have always been blamed as a source of fraud. With a debit card, the buyer has a checking account and the amount is transferred right away - considered one of the most convenient ways to transfer money from a checking account to a payee.

In check news, a check was specially delivered to a local priest, to be given to a Venetian who told Pope Francis that her purse containing 54 euros had been stolen as she travelled to visit her sick husband in the hospital.
