When is walmart black friday?

While Black Friday technically is Friday November 23, 2012, many retailers such as Walmart are starting their sales early!

Walmart’s Black Friday 2012 sale is beginning on Thanksgiving night, Thursday, November 22 at 8:00pm; the store will remain open overnight and through Black Friday itself, November 23, 2012.

The hope is that with an even earlier start there will be less crowding to get in, and the store will be able to satisfy more customers, taking their balance sheets from negative balances in some cases (often marked in Red Ink), to positive ones (typically marked in Black Ink, and hence the modern usage of the word "black" in Black Friday).

Walmart isn't the only retailer opening early, stores such as Family Dollar, Lowe's, Kmart, Sears, Target, Toys R Us, and Walgreens are all opening their doors to shoppers on Thanksgiving Day.
