why does coach Kevin mchale limp?

Houston Rockets coach and Basketball Hall of Fame member Kevin McHale walks with a limp as a result of playing on a broken foot in the 1987 NBA Playoffs. Even after breaking the navicular bone in his right foot on March 27th of that year, McHale still played 39 minutes per game and shot 58% from the floor in the playoffs. His Boston Celtics lost to the LA Lakers in six games in the 1987 NBA Finals.

McHale eventually retired after the 1992-93 season and has been a broadcaster, NBA General Manager and coach ever since.
