If a mother is a positive blood type and the father is o negative can the baby be o positive?

Not Medical Advice:

There are two main blood groups, the ABO group and the Rh group. The ABO group is comprised of A, B, AB, or O blood types. The Rh group is either positive or negative, based on the presence or absence of Rh antibodies in the blood.

If the Mother's blood type is A-Positive, and the Father's blood type is O-Negative, then the offspring of the two may have either Type O, or Type A, and be either Rh positive or Rh negative.

Knowing a person's blood type is very important when a blood transfusion is to take place. Type A blood has antibodies against Type B. Type B blood has antibodies against type A.

Type AB blood has no anti-A or anti-B antibodies, and Type O has both anti-A and anti-B antibodies. A person with type AB blood is called a universal recipient, because they can receive any of the ABO types. A person with type O blood is called a universal donor, because their blood can be given to people with any of the ABO types.

WebMD suggests that your blood type may affect which type of diet works best for you and offers tips on what you should eat.

Just in time for summer, blood types are making news as possibly being responsible for whether or not mosquitoes are attracted to you. Some research suggests that people with type-O blood are nearly twice as likely to get bitten by a mosquito as those with type-A blood.
