kgb_ can't receive Voxer messages since we're a texting-only service, but anyone else using Voxer can receive your messages.

Voxer is an app that can turn your smartphone into a type of Walkie Talkie, only with even more features; they include:

  Playback Capabilities
  

All messages are streamed live, but friends can participate live, or listen to them later when it's convenient for them. The app is currently available for all iOS devices such as iPad, iPod Touch, and iPhone, as well as Android based devices.

Sadly there's also a dark side to messaging apps; stalkers and exploiters of children have also been known to use apps that encrypt messages like Voxer does. A 25 year old teacher in Mississippi was arrested after sending explicit messages to a student through Voxer.

Folks will no longer be able to search for people to chat with via Facebook for stalking, or any other reason now. Voxer was recently given 48-hours notice that their access to the Facebook platform and its data would be blocked; this appears to have been brought about by Facebook's new Voice Messaging feature which pushes it into competition with Voxer.
