Born in Flatwoods, Kentucky, Billy Ray Cyrus, once known for his country singing, hunky good looks and mullet hairstyle, went on to a career as an actor.
His first album hit the top of the pop and country charts, driven in part of the success of "Achy Breaky Heart." In 2006, he took the role of the father of two in the Disney Channel’s Hannah Montana, which launched him into a new realm of fame.
The son of a politician, Cyrus started his singing career performing gospel music in a group with his father. He went on to form the band Sly Dog in the early 1980s, and later found success as a solo artist, signing a recording contract with Mercury Records in 1990.
Jennifer Hudson grew up singing in the church choir and graduated from Dunbar Vocational Career Academy in 1999.
