Edwin “Rip” Nix was June Carter's second husband with whom she had a second daughter named Rosie - born on July 13, 1958. June and Nix were divorced in 1966.

A Madison, Tennessee native, Nix was the son of the late Grady and Mildred Capps Nix.

He was a 1953 graduate of Isaac Litton High School and worked with his dad for many years at Nix Garage. He played football for the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He was former owner of Nix Construction Company and served as a deputy for the Davidson County Sheriff's Department. He was the inventor of the Line-a-Bed, which was patented in Madison in the early 1970's. - Legacy.com
