"Happy Birthday!" were the first words Frosty the Snowman said.
"Frosty" was a song written by Steve Edward Nelson and Walter "Jack" Rollins in 1950. This is considered to be a Christmas song despite not mentioning Christmas at all.
The song was Gene Autry's seasonal follow-up to his successful recording of "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer." Like Rudolph, Frosty was made into an animated television film in 1969 titled: Frosty the Snowman.
It was produced and directed by the Arthur Rankin Jr. and Jules Bass (Rankin-Bass Company). As the story goes, a magical top hat brought Frosty to life and together with his friends, Frosty journeys to the North Pole so he wouldn't melt in the coming spring season.
