Is pink a secondary color or a tertiary color?

Pink is neither, as secondary colors only include green, orange and purple.

There are only six tertiary colors: red-orange, yellow-orange, yellow-green, blue-green, blue-violet, and red-violet. They are created by mixing primary and secondary colors.

Pink is actually a 'tint of red'. Tint is a color made lighter by adding white. A tint is sometimes called a pastel.

A color scheme using tints is usually soft, youthful and soothing, especially the lighter versions. All tints work well in in feminine environments. You often see advertising, marketing, and websites use pale and hot pastels if they are targeting women as a demographic.

Color mixing is something beginners often shy away from. Don’t, rather learn the few fundamentals, embrace the challenge and get mixing.
