Cuphead makes it easy to play local multiplayer. The game has drop-in/drop-out cooperative play.
All you need to do is plug in a second controller, turn it on, and press any button. This will prompt a sign-in screen (you can just choose guest if you need to).
Once that’s done, the second player will now be in control of Mugman, Cuphead’s brother. They’ll also have some coins to spend (equal to the amount you’ve collected in the game so far), so don’t forget to take them shopping for some items that can really help the both of you out.
If you’re looking to play online, Cuphead only has couch co-op that has players share a screen for the time being. You need a partner if you want to see the brothers in action together.
Cuphead, developed and published by StudioMDHR Entertainment, is a classic run and gun action game heavily focused on boss battles. Inspired by cartoons of the 1930s, the visuals and audio are painstakingly created with the same techniques of the era, i.e. traditional hand drawn cel animation, watercolor backgrounds, and original jazz recordings.
