Physical Characteristics of the Jack-Chi:
- Weight: Between 6 - 8 lbs, puppies weigh about 2 - 2.5 lbs.
- Body: Strong and lean for excellent stamina. Paw pads can range from pink to brown depending on the color and coat.
- Head and Face: Small and triangle-shaped - perfect combination of both the dog breeds! Large, expressive eyes of the Chihuahua and the folded or straight ears of the JRT. The color of the nose depends on the color of the coat.
- Coat and Shedding: Short and shiny hair with a natural shine to it which makes it a low maintenance pet.
Jack Russells have a tendency to be very affectionate toward their owners - Chihuahuas are especially so. Be prepared for the time and patience required to train a Jack Russell Terrier Chihuahua mix. Without socialization and proper training from early in life there's a chance they will develop problems of spatial aggression and separation anxiety.
