How many original members of the musical group earth wind and fire are deceased

What we found is that Earth, Wind, & Fire, was a ten-man band when they released their debut album, "Earth, Wind, & Fire" in February 1971.

Members include:

Maurice White - Vocals, Kalimba, Drums, Percussion

Verdine White - Bass

Michael Beal - Guitar, Harmonica

Leslie Drayton - Trumpet

Wade Flemons - Electric Piano, Vocals

Yackov Ben Israel (Phillard Williams) - Conga, Percussion

Sherry Scott - Vocals

Alexander Thomas - Trombone

Chester Washington - Tenor Saxophone

Don Whitehead - Acoustic & Electric Pianos, Vocals

Among these, two were reported dead:

Maurice White (born December 19, 1941) died in his sleep from the effects of Parkinson's disease on February 4, 2016. He was 74 years old when he died.

Wade Flemons died of cancer in 1994. He was 53 years old when he died.
