“Storage Wars” isn’t just a show about other people’s junk. It’s a show about other people’s abandoned junk. How many people could possibly be interested in watching that? According to Nielsen Co., it’s about 5 million. The season 2 premier was the highest rated show in A & E Network history. Two spinoffs are underway with “Storage Wars: Texas” and “Shipping Wars,” both airing on A&E. “Storage Wars” revolves around auctioning off storage units that have been left in arrears. Every week, lightning tongued auctioneer Dan Dotson officiates the battle for ownership of the abandoned units. Regular bidders Barry Weiss, Darrell Sheets, Dave Hester, Jarrod Schulz and Brandi Passante could come up with a goose egg, or a golden goose egg.
