Will there be a zombie apocalypse

Despite the rash of gory incidents in the news, including the most recent one where a man barged into his girlfriend’s home and bit a chunk of flesh from another man’s arm, The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has officially announced that there is no imminent zombie apocalypse. It has also launched a light-hearted Zombie Preparedness Guide geared towards the public.

A CDC spokesman recently sent this message to the Huffington Post, “The CDC does not know of a virus or condition that would reanimate the dead (or one that would present zombie-like symptoms).”

Brad Pitt has been cast to star in a film based on the 2006 novel World War Z about a U.N. employee who travels the world trying to stop the outbreak of a deadly zombie pandemic. See in it theaters on June 21, 2013.
