Why wasn't Molly Cheek in the current movie American Pie - Reunion?
In American Reunion (2012), Jim's mom (Molly Cheek) is dead and only appears in a home movie. It is unknown why the writers chose to kill her off, other than it being a good plot device.
With her husband Noah (Eugene Levy) available, he was able to get involved with Stifler's mother Jeanine (Jennifer Coolidge).
This was the first movie in the main series to not be written by Adam Herz. American Reunion was released on DVD on July 10, 2012.
