Why does your nose tingle right before you sneeze?

The tingling or burning one feels right before a sneeze is the result of fine particles that make it past the defense of your nose hairs, and irritate the lining of the nose. When this irritation occurs, histamines are released. These are what cause the sensations you feel, and signal the body to expel the irritant via a sneeze.
