As of April 2012 and weeks after the episode aired on TV, there has still been no official word or specific reason given for contestant Willam Belli's disqualification from RuPaul's Drag Race on March 19, 2012.
Belli himself has refused to give any reason in the many interviews he's done since he was eliminated, instead cracking jokes and dancing around the question in interviews, including in an interview the day after the show aired with Entertainment Weekly.
In light of this, there has been much speculation that continuing to keep the actual reason a secret has been a planned additional publicity stunt on Belli's and/or the show's part.
There has been a great deal of speculation that Belli was booted because he used a cell phone or computer without authorization, including statements released by those who claim to have been "in the know" saying they heard the rumor weeks before the show aired. One of those statements came from a writer at online magazine Seattle Gay Scene.
Contestants on the show sign contracts requiring them to be sequestered during filming and to have no contact with the outside world, in order to avoid leaks of show info before the TV episodes air.
