In September 2013, Carrie Underwood officially took over from Faith Hill as the singer of NBC’s Sunday Night Football opening theme.
Faith Hill first sang the theme song, “Waiting All Day for Sunday Night,” in 2007. She held the spot for six years before it was announced in April that American Idol alum Underwood would take over the high-profile position.
Recently, Carrie Underwood introduced a special version of her theme song before the Super Bowl. ‘Waiting All Day for a Super Bowl Fight’ replaced ‘Waiting All Day for Sunday Night’ when the Seattle Seahawks faced against the New England Patriots on Sunday (Feb. 1).
