Who actually sings the song rock steady that was sung on tyler perry's movie i can do bad all by myself?

Rock Steady, a song written by Aretha Franklin, was performed by Cheryl Pepsii Riley in Tyler Perry's I Can Do Bad All By Myself.

Riley was an LPN working a regular 9-to-5 job with handicapped children, but was also in a group called Stargaze, singing on weekends at nightclubs. Bowlegged Lou from Full Force offered her a song, she declined to record it, and it became a smash hit for Lisa Lisa instead.

Although it seemed she missed her chance at the big time, Lou later brokered a deal for her with Sony Records to record Thanks for my Child, which became a #1 hit for her. This was the start of her success in the entertainment industry.

I Can Do Bad All by Myself was released on September 11, 2009, and starred Tyler Perry, Taraji P. Henson, and Adam Rodriguez.

On Saturday, September 8, 2012, Riley performed at the Selby Avenue JazzFest in St. Paul, Minnesota along with guitarist Abdul Zuhri.
