Where did the player from san antonio "Tiago Splitter" come from? Where did he use to play?

NBA basketball player Tiago Splitter is originally from Brazil. He was born on January 1, 1985 in Blumenau, Santa Catarina State, Brazil. His full birth name is Tiago Splitter Beims.

Splitter began his professional basketball career in 1999, playing one year in Brazil. He then went on to play for 10 years in Spain, in the Spanish ACB League. He won 2 Spanish League Championships and 4 Spanish Super Cups. He joined the San Antonio Spurs in July 2010, signing a 3-year, $11 million contract.

In the 2012 NBA Western Conference Finals, the San Antonio Spurs now trail the Oklahoma City Thunder 3-2 after losing 108-103 in Game 3 on June 4, 2012. Throughout the series, the Thunder have been using the "Hack-A-Splitter" strategy, in which they intentionally foul Tiago Splitter because he has a low 51.2% free-throw percentage.

Throughout his career, Splitter has played for the Brazilian national basketball team. He will be representing Brazil at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.
