Where did the phrase honey boo boo child come from?

Honey Boo Boo Child is the stage name of 6-year old pageant participant Alana Thompson who was first featured on Toddlers and Tiaras and can now be seen on her own show Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.

In an interview with Anderson Cooper, Alana said that the stage name just “came out of the blue.” Her mom has stated that showing off her midriff is one of Alana’s signatures. In the same interview with Anderson Cooper, Alana’s mother also said that they are not saving for college, but have spent over $15,000 on pageants.

To energize Alana, her mother gives her Go Go Juice, which has as much caffeine as two cups of coffee.
