When is the Cannes film festival?
The Cannes Film Festival, known simply as Festival de Cannes in French, is an annual film festival held in Cannes, France. The 2012 festival runs from May 16th until May 27th.
The festival, founded in 1946, is invitation-only and is widely recognized as the world's most prestigious film festival. New films from all countries are previewed here. The Palme d'Or or "Golden Palm" is the top honor at the festival and is presented for the best film. All awards are given on the final day.
