The song used in the Pennzoil Ultra commercial is the 1990s hit Shine by Collective Soul.

Collective Soul hails from Atlanta, Georgia, and Shine was their 1993 "mega hit" from the album Hints, Allegations and Things Left Unsaid. The album was a collection of demo recordings from Ed Rolland, but it caught fire in the college underground, and reached Double Platinum status.

They recorded their second album, Collective Soul, shortly after their appearance at the 25th Woodstock anniversary; this album reached triple platinum status, remaining on Billboard's Top 200 chart for 76 weeks.

Collective Soul will be at Cain's Ballroom (423 North Main Street, Tulsa, OK 74103, (918) 584-2306) on June 4. The doors open at 7:00 p.m. and tickets start at $29.
