Dumb and Dumber was released on December 16, 1994 in the U.S. The Farrelly Brothers film was written by Peter Farrelly, Bennett Yellin, and Bobby Farrelly, and starred Jim Carrey, Jeff Daniels, and Lauren Holly.

The movie told the story of two dim witted, though goodhearted, friends, Harry, and Lloyd, and their misadventures as they cross the country.

Eight years after the movie's release, Peter Farrelly has just announced that there will be a sequel to it, which will begin production this September.

Unlike the very-disliked prequel in which Farrelly had no involvement, and neither Carrey nor Daniels participated in (When Harry Met Lloyd, released in 2003), this is expected to be a legitimate sequel.
