There has been no verdict yet in the Jodi Arias trial. The trial began January 2, 2013.
Arias is accused of murdering her boyfriend, Travis Alexander in June 2008. He was found shot and stabbed 27 times in his shower. Arias has been incarcerated since then. She has been charged with first degree murder.
Arias has pled not guilty but friends of Travis Alexander said that she stalked and threatened him after he tried to break up with her. The couple broke up in June 2007, but still continued to have a sexual relationship.
The defense has portrayed Alexander as a sexual deviant. According to defense attorney, Jennifer Wilmot, Alexander was a Mormon who tried to have a secret sexual relationship with Arias despite not wanting to be seen in public with her.
Arias has told several versions of what happened. She initially said that Alexander was still alive the last time she saw him and that she was not at his house the night of the murder. Police found a camera inside a washing machine in Alexander's house that contained pictures of Alexander moments before he was killed. The camera also contained a picture of Arias dragging his body. After the camera discovery, she changed her story and said she saw him attacked by two people. She later admitted to killing him after he allegedly attacked her because she dropped his camera.
If Arias is convicted, she will face the death penalty.
