In April of 2010 the Dow Jones Industrial Average topped, and hovered around the 11,000 mark. On April 2, 2010 the market closed at 10,927. By April 9 it had climbed to 10,997.35, and inched to 11,018 by April 16. One week later, on April 23 the DJIA jumped to 11,204.24, but by month's close on April 20, 2010 it sank back to 11,008.61. April was the first time in 18 months that the Dow topped 11,000.
