WHAT WAS THE ACTORS NAME WHO PLAYED HORSHACK ON WELCOME BACK COTTER

Ron Palillo (born Ron Paolillo on April 2, 1949 in Cheshire, Connecticut) was the actor that played Arnold Horshack on the TV series Welcome Back Kotter from 1975 to 1979.

Palillo started acting at an early age, creating his very own summer theater in Cheshire, Connecticut at the age of 14; surprising to many, the theater actually made money! He continued his love for acting into college, majoring in drama at the University of Connecticut at Storrs.

Unknown by many today, Palillo was an accomplished Shakespearean actor, performing is such classics as A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Taming of the Shrew, and of course Macbeth.

Arnold Horshack was his first big role on television, the role that made him a household name in the 1970s.

He continued acting right into the 21st century, his last role being Randolph Baines in It's a Dog Gone Tale: Destiny's Stand (2010).

Sadly, Palillo passed away on August 14, 2012 due to a heart attack, in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. He was 63 years old.
