What was prohibition
Prohibition was the period from January 16, 1920 through December 5, 1933 when the 18th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution prohibited the manufacture, sale, import, export, or transport of alcoholic beverages. Many believe that it showed proof that legislation by the federal government can't take the place of personal responsibility, and can just enrich criminals.
