What was dan wheldons car number?

Dan Wheldon’s car number was 77 when he tragically died from injuries suffered at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on October 16, 2011. The two-time Indianapolis 500 winner had several different car numbers in his 10 IndyCar seasons. He raced in car numbers 4 and 15 for Panther Racing, number 26 for Andretti Green Racing, number 10 for Chip Ganassi Racing and number 99 for Bryan Herta Autosport.

His greatest success came when he raced car number 26, winning the Indy 500 and the IndyCar series title with Andretti Green in 2005.

IndyCar’s first race since Wheldon’s death came in the Briton’s adopted American hometown of St. Petersburg, Florida in March 2012.
