There were reports that Lee Harvey Oswald used a Mannlicher-Carcano rifle (C2766).
The Mannlicher-Carcano M-91 was a bolt action rifle with a 6.5x52mm cartridge, first used by the Italian military through two World Wars, victoriously in the First, and in a losing effort in the Second. It was not the best military rifle to use as the basis of a sporter, however, it is inexpensive and fast to operate.
Unfortunately, the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in 1963 blackens the reputation of the M-91 Mannlicher-Carcano.
From NBCNews , it has been 50 years ago since the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, there are many theories, but there’s no 'real evidence' of a conspiracy. Find out more at NBC News.
