What is the pill with "MP 658" on it used for?

The pill with imprint MP 658 has been identified as Clonidine hydrochloride 0.2 mg.

It is used in the treatment of opiate withdrawal; pain; anxiety; ADHD; high blood pressure (and more), and belongs to the drug class antiadrenergic agents, centrally acting.

Clonidine (Brand name: Catapres) works by relaxing blood vessels so blood can flow more easily. It lowers high blood pressure to help prevent strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems. Clonidine belongs to a class of drugs (central alpha agonists) that act in the brain to lower blood pressure.

Taking the blood pressure of both arms rather than just one could help doctors spot hidden heart disease, a study found that when there was a big difference between the two readings, seemingly healthy people were 38 per cent more likely to suffer a heart attack, stroke or other potentially deadly cardiovascular problem.
