What is the origin of the unicorn?
There is no exact origin of the unicorn. In Chinese mythology the unicorn is said to bring good fortune. Referred to as Ki-Lin it would appear around the time an emperor was born.
The unicorn was first written about around 400 BC in Greece and described as having "the head of a deer, body of a horse, the tail of a lion, the feet of a goat, blue eyes and a horn that was white at the base, black in the middle and red at the tip."
Unicorns have also appeared in the Bible and have been adopted by some Christians as a sign of Christ.
