Chief Meteorologist Frank Mitchell was born in New Jersey and he grew up in California. On the Good Morning Oklahoma show he proposed to co-host Teri Bowers live on TV! The couple were married in Tulsa in 1996 and now have 2 kids, Chloe and Grayson.
Frank Mitchell won an Emmy for a story he did on a tornado in Kansas. He was honored for Best Storm Coverage from the Oklahoma Associated Press. In his spare time he enjoys weightlifting, softball, gardening, music, The Oakland Raiders and playing with his kids.
Last month Mitchell announced that he would be retiring as a meteorologist to pursue a career as a financial adviser. A new chief meteorologist will be named later this month.
