What is the meaning of mezuzah?
The literal translation of Mezuzah is a doorpost that is attached to a Jewish home. It holds a piece of parchment with the prayers Sh'ma and V'ahafta prayers written on it.
The Mezuzah is a reminder that the home is a sacred place. The prayers, taken from Deuteronomy in the Torah, say to treat all people with truth and compassion; also to care for the earth and to pass those values on to the children.
If the prayers are followed then the soul will be protected and justice will be served.
