What is the chance of surviving sarcoma cancer?

The 5-year survival rate for someone with soft tissue sarcomas is about 50% overall. But there are varying survival rates based on the type and location of the sarcomas, as well as what stage the sarcomas are in.

For localized sarcomas, the 5-year survival rate is 83% and for Stage 1 sarcomas, it is 90%. On the other hand, distant spread sarcomas have a 5-year survival rate of 16% and Stage 3 sarcomas have a survival rate of 56%. Sarcomas that are located on an area other than the arms or legs typically have lower survival rates as well.

The 10-year survival rates do not vary significantly from the 5-year rates, meaning that most people that survive 5 years are likely cured.
