What is the age limit of a women's gymnast in the Olympics.
Athletes competing in the gymnastic events at the Olympics must be at least 16 years old, or turn 16 by the end of the calendar year that the Olympics are in. For example, all athletes must be 16 by December 31, 2012 in order to compete in the 2012 Olympics.
The 2012 US Men’s Olympic team is made up of Danell Leyva, John Orozco, Jake Dalton, Jonathan Horton and Sam Mikulak.
The Women’s team consists of Gabby Douglas, McKayla Maroney, Kyla Ross, Aly Raisman and Jordyn Wieber. None of the girls on the women’s team are over the age of 18.
The gymnastic medal events at the 2012 Olympics in London for men and women will be on July 30 through August 2, 2012 and August 5 through 7.
